You're writing about one of the great struggles of life. How do we balance enjoyment of process with the external rewards of outcome.

It's a great thing to become so wrapped up in what we're doing that comparisons, even with our previous efforts, don't matter.

But in the end, competition provides a real-world metric. The way we're headed, it's only the comparison that counts.

Fun is irrelevant. You have to grind.
